Tana Bana: A Study of Solapur Wall Hangings

TANA BANA

The Craft Cluster Initiative of the National Institute of Fashion Technology seeks to identify and recognize India's textile and craft clusters. During our visit to Solapur, we had the opportunity to interact with these artisans, who shared their knowledge and skills with us, and also showed us the process of making these beautiful wall hangings. We learned about the history of this craft, its cultural significance, and the challenges faced by the artisans in sustaining this traditional art form in today's modern world.Through this document, we aim to provide an overview of our experience and insights gained during our visit to Solapur.
